Approximately 3,720 people join the job fair sponsored by Monster.com held in 45th Street, converging on a midtown Manhattan hotel Thursday (March 5, 2009).

The volume of new jobless claims and the total number of people receiving unemployment benefits both decreased more than expected last week, though most of them remain at elevated levels and are unlikely to fall substantially in the coming months.
