Every business is different. They have different needs, serve different purposes, focus on different markets and utilize different strategies. But there is one thing most companies have in common; the business card. This tiny little token of who you are is the currency of networking. While many of the informational standards are the same, like names, numbers and logos, the design options are infinite. Making a business card that stands out may be one of the biggest challenges for any designer. But here are some business card design ideas that may inspire your next great, tiny, work of art.

Cut-Outs

</

Sometimes the best designs are made after a card is printed. Like this card with a cut-out design made using a laser cutter. Laser cutting and Die-cutting are great ways to make a plain card more interesting by using empty space. The fact is, when you take something out of a card it can actually add to the impact.

Unique Font

This card, done in Photoshop may not re-invent the wheel, but it does tailor it. The design features a customized version of Century Gothic which inspires us to take classic fonts and give them a unique twist to make them our own. There are practically a million choices when it comes to typography, and it can be hard to narrow down the field. But creating a font that is completely unique to you is a choice that also speaks to your inventiveness.

The Good Old Days

This card uses a simple black and white color palate and design attributes that are typical of marketing from last century. Designers can often glean inspiration by looking to the past. Designs inspired by nostalgia touch upon the pathos era gone by. They can also evoke memories of simpler times and give business cards an air of longevity and trust.

Kid Stuff

This card combines both nostalgia and whimsy to create something clever. Who doesn’t remember the original Nintendo controllers? Using imagery that reminds people of child hood is a bold choice for a company that is a laid back and off the beaten path. Designers can use youthful images, symbols and styles to effectively create business cards which are cheeky and a bit retro.

Industry Icons

Tattoo parlors employee a unique kind of artist, and this business card reflects that. By utilizing tattoo style art the card makes an instant visual connection with tattoos while also being interesting to look at. Incorporating the more artistic elements of any business into the card design helps deliver the brand message while also portraying the more creative side of the company.

Repetition

This design uses aspects of a logo in a different and creative way. A kite is part of the logo design, but the repeated pattern on the back further utilizes aspects of the logo in an unexpected way. This kind of art is interesting but it also further promotes branding while creating a visually appealing unified image.

Your Own Work

This business card for a photographer makes use of a striking image to display not only pertinent business information but the photo taker’s talent as well. When you can incorporate contact details along with proof of ability that makes for one powerful business card. But in any situation, using a complex and beautiful photograph as the backdrop for a business card can be a memorable statement.

Web Centric

Business cards can be wordy by their nature, but let’s not forget words can be art. When designing business cards, it’s often possible to turn those important details into an attractive eye catching feature of the card. This one in particular features the website, and if a business is looking to increase their online activity this can be an extremely effective technique. Creating web-centric cards is a great strategy for any businesses with a thriving internet presence. Focusing your business card around online engagement by highlighting the website, and or social media can help you create more connections on the web.

Humor

This Business card for a pet store incorporates animals which is the main theme of the retailer but also humor. Even in business a little bit of laughter can go a long way. If you want to show a little personality, then humorous images and tag lines can be extremely effective and memorable adding a little levity to a typically stuffy business token

information, correct grammar and no spelling mistakes are important for every
copywriter to follow, they are by no means the only consideration for Internet
writers and web site owners. One little known fact about Internet readers is that
they will usually only read around a quarter of an article or post before making the
decision to either choose your service or continue searching for alternatives.
Learning how to arrange your content for maximum effect to combat this problem is
crucial to online copy-writing success.

The Food Pyramid – For Writers

Just like the organization of the old food pyramid, writing has a pyramid
that should be used to accent information and ensure that your readers will read the
most important information first, before they have a chance to leave. If you have a
long winded expository statement or introduction before you get to the main point of
your article, you could rapidly lose reader interest before they have a chance to
take in the key points of your article.

When you first finish an article, read through it and try to identify every
paragraph that holds some major information about your product or service. Mark each
of these with a number ranking them from the least to most important information.
When you are done, you can reorganize your content to move from the top number,
down. If you are having difficulty ranking paragraphs, consider using the following
criteria (listed from most to least important):

Specific Product Information – What does your product or service do?

Benefits of Your Service – How do you rise above the competition? How are you the
best service?

Call to Action – What does the reader need to do next? How can they order your
service?

Company Information – Quotes or connections with the reader.
Historical Information – Classically first in informational articles but not as
important in sales driven writing or reviews.

Content Formatting and Organization

One of the most common mistakes that content writers often make when writing for the
Internet is underestimating the importance of space and organization. Do not indent
paragraphs. Instead, leave at least once space between each block of text, header
and subhead. In addition, try to keep your content away from your banners and
advertisements. Flashy ads can make content very difficult to read – often causing
the reader to skip to the next paragraph, possibly skipping important information.

Finally, avoid long sentences or an overuse of commas. Although many English
teachers may not approve, short, blunt sentences can be very helpful to Internet
readers. You can also break up sentences using hyphens rather than using commas
every time – just like this. Even this small amount of space can work wonders on
content readability and scanning ease.

He also runs a blog over at Content Customs, which is managed and written by one of the head writers of the company.

Naming your website, a good domain name is an important part of the overall internet marketing campaign.

A domain name plays a standing role when people discover, remember, think about, talk about, search for, or navigate to certain website. It establishes a strong theme for the branding of a website.

Coming with the right domain name requires a combination of imagination, strategy and logical practice. Please review my tips:

Short and Unique

Catchy and memorable (Choose dot com)

Easy to pronounce, spell, and type

Reject Hyphens and Numbers

Don’t Follow the Latest Trends (Website names that rely on odd mis-spellings)

Not a violation of someone else’s trademark.

Choosing right domain names for your website is getting tighter, but with the right strategy principles, building a great name is still possible.

Facts: For 90% of the projects I take on, I can say that domain name is already part of the internet marketing equation.

Kanwaljit Kaur asked:

PPC or pay per click is another form of advertising which can be done on search engines, ad networks, and websites or blogs. Pay per click is when an advertiser only pays for clicks to his or her website. Once the advertiser finds the site she wants to advertise on, they then bid on search terms or keywords that they think people will search for on search engines. Example, if you have a website about food, or offer food products such as cook books, wine, food items, kitchen gadgets etc, then you would bid on keywords relevant to those words, or make those words your exact keywords. A good example of this would be Google adsense. Publishers can earn money by putting ads on their sites, and you the advertiser have a chance of your ad being put on the ads.

Only when a user clicks these ads will the advertiser have to pay, which is why it’s called pay per click. Minimum prices per click depend on the site you decide to advertise with. Usually the lowest bid allowed is $0.01. The site where the advertiser would buy the bids would be on Adwords. There is also other pay per programs that may be better suited for you. These pay per programs include Pay Per Call, Pay Per Delivery, Pay Per Action, Pay Per Lead, and even Pay Per Listen. You can use any or all of these advertising programs to get more visitors to your site, visitors that are looking specifically for whatever it is your promoting or selling. Your best bet is to do a search on “PPC Advertising” and before you pick a site do some research, find some reviews. Ask about them in the forums you goto. See what types of sites get the best bids, the best results, etc. There are tons of sites out there that will be happy for you to register as an advertiser or a publisher. Some are legit, some are not.

Choose carefully. Another small tip I can give you from personal experience, is if and when you find a PPC site or ANY pay per site, and its your first time using the site, use a small amount of money before you get into really LARGE campaigns. This way you can safely test the site out with out really losing too much money in the process. Here are examples of some legit sites where you can buy bids as an advertiser, some of these are better suited for PPC others are better suited for Pay Per Lead or Pay Per Action. Google AdWords, Bidvertiser, Adbrite, Yahoo! Search, Microsoft Adcenter, LookSmart, Amazon. Other good sites to try to advertise on are Social Networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook, Xanga, Moli, etc. Usually Social Networking sites are a huge cost though but you can be sure it will be worth it. Myspace alone has over 200 million members, that’s a lot of eyes just waiting to view your ads! Good luck with your bidding, I hope you all found that this article gave you some good ideas on what PPC is and how to go about it when searching for sites to put your ads on.

Kansieo.com
